Symptom:
My PM5 is displaying Sensor Wire is Damaged
Resolution:
The PM5 monitor can detect if the sensor wire isn't working properly. Usually, you can still start your workout by pressing "continue," but it might drain the batteries faster.
The "damaged sensor wire" message only appears when you're selecting a preset workout from the menu. It won't show up if you start the monitor by moving the flywheel or choosing a "Just" option.
Sometimes, the PM5 might show this message by mistake, especially if the machine has been moved or bumped.
To test if the wire is damaged:
- Remove the batteries.
- Check that the sensor wire is securely plugged into the bottom left corner of the PM5. Inspect the plug for damage and make sure it's fully inserted. Also, check the wire for any damage.
- Row 10 to 12 strokes normally without batteries.
- If the monitor works without batteries and shows your workout, the wire might not be damaged. Reinstall the batteries, and you should be good to go.
