To put the oars on a boat, first determine which side of the boat the oars go on. Slide the oar into the oarlock by placing the narrow portion of the shaft near the blade into an open oarlock and slide it so that the collar meets the inboard side of the oarlock.
Next, close the oarlock gate before getting into the boat to prevent the oar from coming out of the oarlock unexpectedly.
Adjustments: The oars should rotate freely in the oarlock. If they don’t, adjustments can be made to open the oarlock up, depending on the make of the oarlock. Contact Concept2 for suggestions if there are issues with the fit.
