Symptom:
Error message 575 relates to an improper battery voltage reading. For early PM5 monitors, this could be due to a poorly fitting battery door. If your battery cover says REV A on the inside contact Concept2 for a free replacement cover.
If the PM5 already has a remolded battery door then no replacement is needed. In that case, error 575 indicates a problem with response timeouts from the wireless chip in the PM5 responsible for communication to heart rate devices and apps. The intermittent error indicates that the wireless chip is not responding as expected.
Resolution:
Remove both batteries from the PM5 and leave them out for at least 15 minutes. Install a brand new pair of good quality batteries (such as Duracell or Energizer) into the PM5 to see if it will then power on and work normally.
We also recommend updating the PM5 firmware.
Here are the steps:
- Using a computer, visit the firmware page.
- Click on the Concept2 Utility Software download appropriate for your computer (Windows or Mac) and follow the prompts to download and install the software.
- After the Concept2 Utility Software has been installed, reboot the computer and start the program.
- Go back to the firmware page and click on either “Updating Firmware with the USB Flash Drive” or “Updating Firmware with the USB Cable” (depending on whether you're using a Flash Drive or Cable). Follow the step-by-step procedure to install the firmware on your PM5.
If the issue persists, after completing the steps above, please contact customer service.
